Trippies, a shop off Arab Street, brings you back to a time where you can relive your childhood memories - you may even find a piece of history you like and bring it home.

By Lynn, trainee teacher at NIE

Lead story

Today, anyone can go shopping at a mall to get the things they want. But these days, some people go off the beaten track for alternative therapy.

Vintage and retro stores have been thriving as of late. There has been an increase in the number of young Singaporeans who make everything old new again by seeking out vintage items, antique furniture, fashion and decorative items to stand out from the crowd or just to reminisce their good old days.

A shop where people can find a piece of history that they love and bring it home is a shop off Arab street, called Trippies. This shop is stocked with vintage and retro items. You walk down memory lane as you find old school toys, retro bicycles, motorbikes, vintage clothes, unique pieces of furniture, vintage clocks and watches and little knick knacks. There is also a children's toy museum where you can enter for a fee of $2. There is even a garden at the backyard where you can soak up the retro vibes of the place.
